Void Kong is the leader of VoidCo, a villainous trio of apes that serve as the main villain of the 2025 platform video game Nintendo Switch 2 title Donkey Kong Bananza.
He is the greedy and childish president of the company VoidCo. and the boss of Poppy Kong and Grumpy Kong who plots to dig all the way down to the planet's core with the intent of finding the Banandium Root in its center so he can realize his wish of having all the gold in existence, not even knowing that it could unleash an even greater, older threat. He's also the archenemy of Pauline, being the one responsible for transforming her into Odd Rock at the start of the game.
History[]
Donkey Kong travels to the Ingot Isle to obtain recently-discovered Banandium Gems amidst a gold rush. He is swept underground by a storm while searching and discovers Hollow Earth-like terrain. VoidCo., a gang of villainous apes, steals the Banandium Gems as they seek to reach the planet's core, where, according to legend, one can have their greatest wish granted. The boulder then pushes Ingot Isle further into the ground, with the resulting storm sending Donkey Kong and the Prospector Monkeys into the depths along with it.
When Donkey Kong meets a young talented singer named Pauline, they get introduced to the ones who caused the storm: Grumpy Kong, Poppy Kong, and the notorious and titular Void Kong himself. Void notices Pauline and asks her to join him, Pauline however refuses and says that he's the worst since he was the one responsible for transforming her into Odd Rock, the small monkey then screeches at her and DK and reminds them that he's the president and in charge of the entire company. After a fight against Void, He straight up gaslights Pauline about making his wish of infinite riches using the power of her special ability. When his employees and the eelevator failed to destroy DK and turned their backs on him, he straight up fires all of them and called them useless. No longer needing use for them, he has to settle this by himself to destroy the banana lover and the singer.
When the duo arrived at the Banandium root, Void was waiting for them as he attempts to manipulate Pauline into freeing the root to gain his sick wish to become the richest monkey in the world. Unfortunately though, this attempt failed, infuriating the little macaque in the process before engaging in their final fight. After Void Kong is defeated, he immediately trapped DK in stone until Pauline sung her heart out to awaken the Banandium Root. In doing so, DK is released and the Banandium Root is suddenly awakened. Void Kong then takes the opportunity to claim the prize. However, the malicious and infamous King K. Rool soon awakens after being released and knocks Void Kong away, sending him flying towards the meteor.
Returning to the site of the battle against Void, Poppy reveals that Void survived the meteor crash, and ran off after being freed by Grumpy Kong.
Personality[]
Void is a heartless, greedy, sadistic, and childish psychopath who never cares about anyone but himself. He is also prideful about him being the president of Void Co., and he will scream at anyone if they disrespect or insult him. For example, when Pauline tells him that he's the worst, the small monkey screeches at her and DK. Even worse, when His employees and the elevator failed and turned their backs on him, he straight up fires them and called them useless, not even showing the slightest care for them. His goal is go to the Planet's Core to grant his own desires for riches and gold. Out of all the past villains of the series due to his lack of remorse or signs of mercy towards others, Void Kong is the most dangerous enemy towards Donkey Kong and Pauline they have ever faced, until the arrival of King K. Rool.
Appearance[]
Void Kong is a small kong that resembles a bush baby or an aye-aye. He has a black-and-white patterned coat matching his fur, a bowtie with glowing polka dots, and a golden harness underneath his coat. His eyes have yellow sclera (with his right eye having a visible vein) as well as sharp, golden teeth. The small kong also seems to sport banana-shaped earrings and long, (possibly) painted nails. His weapon of choice is a floating banana-shaped rock (or simply his power over the other two kongs, if that's the case.

Trivia[]
- Void Kong is the only Kong in the entire game series apart from most of the Kong boss group from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (Dread Kong, Sumo Kong, Ninja Kong) not to follow the tradition Kong "-y/-ie" naming scheme.
- Void Kong is a dark reflection of Donkey Kong, as both of them are obsessed with bananas (Gold Bananas) and quite stubborn at times. However, DK cares about his friends and is willing to protect his island from threats, while Void Kong never shows love or care towards anyone, only looking for ways to satisfy his greed. He is an example of what Donkey Kong could've become if he let his obsession and craving for bananas get the best of him.
- Void is also a dark parallel to Cranky Kong, as both of them are/were villains (with Cranky becoming the bad guy in the original Donkey Kong arcade game an its Game Boy remake). However, Cranky gives up being villainous towards Mario and in favor of a more peaceful life, becomes a father of Donkey Kong Jr. and also a grandfather towards modern Donkey Kong. Void Kong is an example of what Cranky would have become if he wouldn't let go of the past.
- Void is the fifth main villain of the Donkey Kong franchise, after King K. Rool, Ghastly King Tiki Tong, and Lord Fredrik.
- Void Kong could be an opposite towards Topper from Super Mario Odyssey.
- Both of them are small leaders of the Broodals and VoidCo.
- Funnily, Void Kong acts similar to Dreamworks' Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie's villain, Professor Poopypants.
- Both of them have a short status and extreme anger issues.
- Void and Poopypants have V shaped hair or fur styles on top of their heads.
- The duo uses the color purple with Poopypants wearing purple to fit George and Harold's comic and Void Kong uses purple as part of his weapon to turn Pauline into Odd Rock. Also, Poopypants has his own weapon called the Shrink Weapon and Melvin's machine, the Turbo Toliet 2000.
