Swanky's Bonus Bonanza is a quiz-show designed by Swanky Kong, exclusive to Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. It is found on every area of Crocodile Isle, except for The Flying Krock and Lost World.
Upon entering, Swanky will greet Diddy and Dixie, and offer them to play in his bonus games. A small menu will appear in the bottom center of the screen, allowing the Kongs to choose which quiz they want. The prizes, price to play, and difficulty of the quiz depends on which one they chose.
If they pay the easiest and first quiz, with one Banana Coin, they will be asked three quiz questions based on where the player is, Donkey Kong Country 2, and the player's general knowledge of Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Country. They will be awarded one Red Balloon if they get all the answers right.
If the Kongs pay two coins, required for the second quiz, they will be asked another three questions, but a little harder than the basic one-coin quiz. However, they will be awarded a Green Balloon for completing it. The last and hardest quiz has a 3-coin-price fee, but offers the precious Blue Balloon as the prize. All prizes emerge from the barrels in the background, which barrel depends on what difficulty- the "1" barrel awards the player with the Red Balloon for finishing the first quiz, etc.
Game Boy Advance versionIn the Game Boy Advance remake, the title is now shortened to "Bonus Bonanza". There are a few changes, though the pricing and quiz difficulties carry on from the SNES version. When a quiz is chosen, the Kong playing will enter a barrel that transports them to a stage resembling an actual quiz show's, with Swanky on a podium asking questions as he had in the SNES version. Candy Kong appears to be Swanky's assistant, though she doesn't appear to do much. To answer the questions, the Kong playing must select the answer, either "A", "B", or "C", by jumping on the corresponding star-shaped button on the floor. If incorrect, the Kong will jump through the star-shaped platform.
In both versions, the quiz cannot be played again when it has been beaten, and when the Kongs try to return when all the bonuses are gone, they will exit after a short chat from Swanky.
- As a small Easter Egg, a Giant Banana usually won when defeating a boss in the original Donkey Kong Country appears in the background of the SNES version of Swanky's Bonanza.
- Also in the SNES version of the Bonanza, there appear to be Extra Life Balloons in the shape of DK, not Diddy as they are in normal gameplay. This could be an Easter Egg or a small mistake by the developers.
