Slippas are snake-like enemies found in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land, and have only appeared there since. Their design appears to be based on the real-life Coral Snake, and are always red in color.

Description

In Donkey Kong Country, Slippas made their debut in Reptile Rumble, the first cave level. Hissing sounds can be heard when the Kongs are near one. Considering how Slippas only appear in cave or mine levels, they are somewhat rare. Slippas can be defeated either by jumping of them or rolling/cartwheeling into them. Some oil barrels endlessly spawn them. In fact, an enemy in Donkey Kong Land called Slippa Jar, was specifically made to spawn them. There is not a larger boss version of Slippa, though the boss Dumb Drum will spawn them during its boss battle.

In Donkey Kong Land, Slippas were essentially unchanged. As such, they're found in mines, caves and occasionally factories. There is also a new variation of Slippas, which slide down ropes. They can be seen in Riggin' Rumble and Skyscraper Caper.
