"Slippa: Scaly, slithering snakes that like to live in oil drums."
—Donkey Kong Country Manual, pg. 29

Slippas are snake enemies found in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land, and have only appeared there since. Their design appears to be based off of the real-life Coral Snake, and are always red in color.

Description

In Donkey Kong Country, Slippas make their debut in Reptile Rumble, the first cave level. Hissing sounds can be heard when the Kongs are near one. Considering how Slippas only appear in cave or mine levels, they are somewhat rare. Slippas can be defeated either by jumping of them or rolling/cartwheeling into them. Some oil barrels endlessly spawn them, and in fact an enemy in Donkey Kong Land, called Slippa Jar, was specifically made to spawn them. There is not a larger boss version of Slippa, though the boss Dumb Drum will spawn them during it's boss battle.

In Donkey Kong Land, Slippas were essentially unchanged. As such, they're found in mines, caves and occasionally factories.
