Poppy Kong is a tall and slender member of VoidCo, a villainous trio that serve as the villains and recurring bosses of the Nintendo Switch 2 title, Donkey Kong Bananza.

She is responsible for gathering information for the company and is one of Void Kong's minions that serves as an information gatherer so that she can help him reach the planet core.

In-game, Poppy Kong serves as the first/penultimate bosses of both the Freezer Layer and the Radiance, and (depending on the Layer that the Player goes to first) is either the fifth or sixth and later eleventh boss of the overall game

Biography

Poppy Kong is helping Void Kong to stop Donkey Kong and Pauline from reaching the bananas she used her speed to to stop Donkey Kong but he used his Zebra transformation to dodge her and beat her up in her battles.

Appearance

Poppy Kong could either be a colobus monkey or a white-cheeked spider monkey (given her black and white fur and fluffy tail and tall and slender appearance.) Her white hair has purple highlights, and she sport a "golden" look with her glasses, lips, and jewelry. Her outfit consists of a white sleeveless midriff with matching wrist cuffs, pants that go from black to yellow, and high heels with her toe thumbs popping out. Her weapon of choice is what appears to be a perfume bottle.

Personality

Poppy Kong is a calm and seemingly professional businesswoman who takes great pride in her abilities as a fighter, executive and informant. She can come off as rather vain and selfish, even prioritizing her own success over others, and was quick to betray Void Kong when things went south for VoidCo. Nonetheless, she is not underhanded and knows when to accept defeat, and was willing to help Donkey Kong after he defeated her and later became his ally after he helped her escape from the Groove Layer's Jail Hall. She later continued working alongside Grumpy Kong at Ingot Isle by helping the miners while expanding their new business together, now running their own construction company.

After Void Kong's defeat, she showed animosity towards her former employer and revealed to Donkey Kong that she dreams of having Void Kong on her payroll and running him ragged.

Strategy

In the battles agent Poppy Kong of the Freezer Layer, she will use a perfume bottle to turn invisible and will skate around in high speed all around the arena as to hit Donkey Kong, to defeat her, Donkey Kong must watch the snow as to see were she is and hit Poppy Kong by either waiting until Poppy Kong hits a wall and be stun, allowing to be strike, or by hitting her with a strong punch, after which Poppy Kong will be stun for some damage, she will then repeat this strategy two more times until her health has been depleted

In the second/final battle agents Poppy Kong in the Radiance Layer, her strategy is mostly the same expect she is much faster, has more HP and hits much harder, additionally her second phase now preforms a zig-zag like rush attack and her third phase is the same as it was in the first battle, but is much faster. Tho other-wise, its the same.

• Poppy is the first major female villain of the Donkey Kong series, and the second to have a boss battle, with the first being Queen B.
• Poppy Kong is the first and only member of VoidCo in Donkey Kong Bananza to not utilize any vehicle in her fights, Grumpy Kong uses a Stone Golem while Void uses his Hover Board.
• In both the Freezer Layer and the Radiance Layer, Poppy Kong is always the first boss of that Layer.
• She is likely based off of a Spider monkey, specifically a white-cheeked spider monkey, as she has black & white hair, and is also tall and slender. And unlike Diddy Kong, who despite being confirmed to be based off of a spider monkey looks nothing like one, her appearance is more accurate to one, though it has not been confirmed if she is based off of a spider monkey.
• She could also be based off of a Colobus Monkey due to her fluffy tail.
• Kongs who’s species are based off of monkeys such as Diddy Kong are usually quadrupedal (meaning they walk on 4 limbs) just like a real life monkey, however, Poppy Kong is seen walking on 2 feet, making her the only Kong who’s species is based off of a monkey to be bipedal.
