"Parry is the second rookie on this year's squad, but his aerial antics make him an all-star in our book. Parry follows you overhead wherever you go, picking up otherwise unreachable items and defeating high-flying Booty Birds." -Nintendo Player's Guide, page 11

Parry the Parallel Bird is an uncommon non-playable Animal Buddy found in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. He flies parallel above to the Kongs at all times, but will be killed by any enemy he comes in contact with other than the Booty Birds. Since it may be difficult to bring him to the end, after passing the No Animal Sign a reward such as a Blue Balloon, Green Balloon or a Bonus Barrel will be received.
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Parry the Parallel Bird always flies parallel above the Kongs, meaning that the Kongs not only have to be aware of enemies on the ground, but also obstacles that might hinder Parry from making it to the No Animal Sign. While in some levels, the reward for leading him to the No Animal Sign is an Extra Life Balloon, the Kongs may also be rewarded with a Bonus Barrel. However, failing the Bonus Stage will result in the Kongs having to redo the level for the Bonus Barrel, because it disappears after the first attempt of beating the Bonus Stage.
