Nintendo 64 piece

The Nintendo Coin is a one-of-a-kind item in Donkey Kong 64. It is a silver coin with the Nintendo 64 logo on both sides. The player will need both this and the Rareware Coin to open the gate to the last Boss Key in Hideout Helm.

To earn it, the player must clear the Donkey Kong Arcade game.

The Nintendo Coin

The game is on the third level, Frantic Factory; once the player completes the level's Blast Barrel Course and obtains the Gorilla Grab potion from Cranky, Donkey Kong will be able to play the game on the arcade console within the factory. The player must clear 100m in order to beat the game; beating it on Level 1 Difficulty will yield a Golden Banana. Then, for a one-time fee of two Banana Coins, DK can play on Level 2 Difficulty, where the Nintendo Coin appears in place of Lady; if he clears 100m, he will obtain the coin. Afterwards, Donkey Kong Arcade will be available to play for fun whenever the player visits Frantic Factory.

This coin symbolizes one of the companies who made Donkey Kong 64, Nintendo.
