Lately, I've been adding sprites to all the enemies according to Template:DKCE, and I've noticed that the two pages, Kong and Kong Family, seem redundant. The only difference I can spot is that Kong Family seems more specific.
Hello I'm doing okay thanks, trying to find time outside of my studies so I can edit on wikis. Sadly my computer's hard drive became corrupt a week ago so I had to reinstall everything.
I agree that both pages shouldn't exist at the same time because of redundancy. And I also think that Kong should take precedence over Kong Family because of special cases such as Manky Kongs who are not part of the Kong Family, but are a Kong species. Personally I'd merge the useful information into Kong and delete Kong Family, as the content (in my opinion) seems to be a better fit there.
I was just previously editing Mainbrace Mayhem, and I moved your animation into its own category named "Animation". Since it isn't in a gallery anymore, it is not shrunk down into a thumbnail; it's pretty big too. Problem is, if it is not a thumbnail, the caption is not visible. What size do you think it should be?
You can add the |thumb parameter to GIFs outside of galleries, and it should still add a thumbnail them whilst being animated. 180 x 156 seems to be the standard dimensions for me for thumbnail GIFs if you need to state specific dimensions.
I just deduced a new idea! What if we made a template that could be used as a link between two levels? For example, in the level King of Cling, the template would be placed somewhere at the top of the page; the template would contain the previous level's link (Jungle Hijinxs) and the next level's link (Tree Top Bop).
The level parameters would obviously be editable, but the layout and the such would not.
Interesting idea. In fact, we have something more or less identical over on MLP Wiki. It's fairly complex for a template but it's doable. Once you fill in the subpage with all possible levels it will automatically figure itself out when used on a relevant level page!
p.s. I've been playing DKC3 lately and will eventually work on the Warp Barrel images for its levels, though I'm also busy with my irl job and soon university so I'll do things when I have (little of) upcoming spare time.
That's amazing; how it automatically figures itself out, that is. Although I was thinking of something more simple, albeit more time consuming. If you could show me how the template works, I'd gladly get to work on it as soon as I can.
Take your time with the Warp Barrel animations, Ozank. I too am short on time a lot these days. If you haven't noticed already, the editing activity on this wikia has been cut in half probably due to school. You're not alone!
