Green Bananas are an important part of the Donkey Kong franchise and a rare variation of regular Bananas. They made their debut in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! in a few bonus stages, and later reappeared in Donkey Kong 64 as Chunky Kong's collectible bananas.

History

Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble

In Donkey Kong Country 3, Green Bananas appear exclusively in certain bonus rooms in which the player has to collect a certain number of them to obtain the Bonus coin, usually 15. They will appear in random spots.

Donkey Kong 64

Green Bananas appear in all levels in Donkey Kong 64. They are collected exclusively by Chunky Kong. The green bananas in this game have a lighter shade of green, and like all colored bananas, they appear transparent when using another Kong.

Trivia

• Bananas in real-life are normally green colored when they are raw. They will slowly turn yellow as they ripen.
• Because of their first appearance in Donkey Kong Country 3, green bananas are the only alternate colored banana to not debut in Donkey Kong 64.
