Tiki Boing as seen in Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Tiki Boings are tiki enemies that are part of the Tiki Tak Tribe, found in the games Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They first appear in the Cave Key Temple Jagged Jewels and the Forest level Longshot Launch. Their final appearance in both games is in the Cliff level Tippy Shippy. Tiki Boings bounce constantly, some of them staying on the same place or always moving forward at the same direction while bouncing. The latter type tries to cross paths with Donkey and Diddy Kong, in an attempt to hit them. In order to defeat them, the Kongs can jump on or roll into them. They can also be temporarily knocked out by using a ground-pound move close by.

Appearance[]

Tiki Boings resemble most other tikis, except they are divided into different segments, like the Tiki Seekers. The top two segments of their body form a mouth. Their eyelids take on a form of a sort of hexagon-like shape, if they are holding their eyes closed. They also have red feathers on the side of their heads, probably used for decoration.

Trivia[]

  • If a roll attack is used on Tiki Boings, as they fly off-screen, they will make the same sound made by Tiki Buzzes after hit by a barrel.
  • In the official artwork, the Tiki Boing possesses arms but when encountered in the games, they do not have any (see Gallery section above).
  • There is a conceptual artwork for an Early Lava Tiki that looks very similar to the Tiki Boing (see Gallery section above). It has a spikier appearance, as well as no eyelids.
