Colonel Pluck is the chicken boss of the Factory world of the Donkey Kong Island in the games Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, serving as the main boss of that world and is the seventh/penultimate boss of the games. He pilots a huge robotic contraption called the Stompybot 3000 in the leval Feather Fiend. He was hypnotized by Cordian.

History[]

Colonel Pluck was hypnotized into stomping on a bunch of Bananas into mush and using them to animate various Tiki minions (Tiki Goons, Tiki Tanks and Tiki Torches). He was then forced into battle against Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. When defeated by them, he is knocked out cold and lies unconscious under the remains of his robot, while Cordian gets a beating and is sent flying by Donkey Kong.

Physical Appearance[]

Colonel Pluck is a white chicken that wears goggles with a black frame. He has a limp, red comb on his head and fairly long arms and neck for a chicken. He also has four tips at the end of each arm, which function similar to hands, helping him control the Stompybot 3000.

Attacks[]

In the first phase, Colonel Pluck controls the Stompybot 3000, walking around the stage. The duo must make their way under the robot. Occasionally, it will run across the screen quickly. Sometimes, Colonel Pluck will lift the robot into the air and then perform a ground pound on the ground. When green chains appear at some point, he will start lifting the legs into the air and back on the ground one at a time, but very rarely will Pluck try to trick the apes by just scratching the floor with his mechanical feet, which Donkey and Diddy cannot go under. If Donkey and Diddy fail to damage Pluck, he will roast the Kongs with a flame jet, but not before lifting one of the robot's legs, giving the Kongs a small chance to escape.

Pluck will send in some eggs, where Buckbots will hatch out. Donkey Kong must rid of these so he has enough room to avoid Pluck, who will try to use the Stompybot to body-slam him from above, resulting in the Stompybot getting stuck in the ground for a second before freeing itself.

Combat[]

In order to deal damage, Donkey Kong must go under the Stompybot 3000 as it rise's its legs after preforming a ground pound as it summons the chains, for which Donkey Kong can grab a hold of the change and to a ground pound to deal damage, after damaging the Stompybot 3000 three times, the robot's outer shell will break off, and will resemble a flying vehicle. Pluck, who still is inside the robot, will send in BuckBots at this point. Donkey Kong must dodge his attacks and stomp on Pluck three times. After this, Cordian will emerge, allowing Donkey Kong to send it flying off into the distance.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[]

Colonel Pluck appears as a trophy.

Trophy Information[]

NA: Stomp all night, stomp all day. Colonel Pluck has been hypnotized by the Tiki Tak Tribe to mash bananas with his Stompybot 3000. Looks like they're creating new tribe members with the resulting juice. Hopefully they're peeling those bananas... Nothing worse than leftover peel in a banana smoothie.

PALHe stomps stolen bananas into mush with his giant stomping machine. Why does he do it? Because the Tiki Tak Tribe are controlling him - that's why! They're using the banana mush to create new tribe members. Who knew bananas were so magical?
