Clambos are underwater enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land. Although they are an odd-looking enemy, in actuality, they are clams with two eyes and a tongue.
History
Donkey Kong Country/Land
Clambos repeatedly open and close, spitting out pearls each time they open. The number of pearls is different depending on which Clambo it is. Clambos spit out 1 to 5 pearls. They are also invincible, and therefore need to be avoided. Clambos are rare in most underwater levels, but are extremely common in the level "Clam City".
In Donkey Kong Country's Game Boy Advance version, there is a Photograph of Clambo. It is found in Clam City after the "O", in a secret cavern behind a Clambo.
In Donkey Kong Land, their roles remain the same. A larger Clambo called Colossal Clambo can be found as a boss.
Donkey Kong Country (comic)
Clambo make a brief appearance, being annoyed when the "Chomp Police" come in to try and defeat Donkey and Diddy. A Clambo bites one of the Chomps, and is next seen arguing with the other water enemies over who should handle the Kongs. However, due to being distracted, are left open for a sudden TNT Barrel thrown by DK, which presumably defeated them.
