A Chained Kong

Chained Kongs are one of the species of Kong in the Mushroom Kingdom and they are a high level enemy in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. They are located in the Barrel Volcano and usually appear alongside Vomers (Dry Bones sub-species). One of them appears in Bowser's Keep where Mario should avoid the barrels thrown by him, referencing the original Donkey Kong arcade game.

Physical Appearance

As the name states, Chained Kongs are Kongs that have shackles around their arms and legs for unknown reasons (presumably due to them being enslaved by the Smithy Gang). They look very similar to Donkey Kong, only with chains and without the necktie.

In game, they lack any special attacks, but they have high HP (355) and attack power (150). They are weak against ice attacks, but strong against fire attacks. They give 35 EXP and 8 coins when defeated. Their Psychopath quote is "A tad warm, isn't it?!".

  • Chained Kongs are actually stronger versions of the Guerrilla enemies who also appear in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. However, the Guerrilla's relation to the Kongs are still unknown.
