Booster Barrel is a type of barrel first introduced in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III.
The Booster Barrel is somewhat like a Barrel Cannon and an Auto-Fire Barrel. When entered, it will ignite automatically and boost the heroes upwards like a barrel cannon, only appearing to have a flame booster at the bottom, and automatically firing a Kong when it travels a certain distance. When firing, the Kongs can steer left or right slightly, and the barrel will descent back to it's initial position.
This barrel returned in the DK series of games, King of Swing and Jungle Climber. In the latter two they can be steered and have blue fire instead of red.
