- "All of my brothers are scattered across these islands, pop in and say hello if you meet them on your travels."
Bazaar is one of the Brothers Bear that appeared in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Bazaar runs a shop, in which the Kongs can purchase essential items that are needed to complete the game. Bazaar is also known for charging unreasonable prices for useless information.
Bazaar is well informed of the area around the Northern Kremisphere. Information regarding the hidden Banana Bird Caves and Kastle KAOS can be purchased from him in exchange for Bear Coin. Bazaar's General Store sells various items. The Kongs are required to purchase a shell and a mirror for 5 and 50 bear coins respectively to progress the game. After these items are bought, Bazaar will continue to sell the same information repetitively. Bazaar is a typical shopkeeper, in that he uses common sales techniques to arouse interest in his products, e.g. One of Bazaar's many quotes "Not interested? Never mind, I'm sure some lucky person will snap it up soon.". Bazaar is mentioned by Boomer, "I had to pop down to Bazaar's and get this fan. He's not cheap, is he?".
Bazaar is the first of the Brothers Bears that can be encountered in the game. He has more dialog than any other bear in the game, with at least 25 unique statements. Bazaar mentions to the Kongs an encounter he had with Link, from the Legend of Zelda series. "Some cheeky lad called Link was in just last week and he asked about the castle too. He didn't have enough coins, but he seemed such a nice fellow that I agreed to accept 500 rupees instead. After that he left... muttering about my shells being the wrong shape or something. Oh well!" 1
Bazaar is likely named after the middle eastern word for Marketplace.
- Bazaar mentions Link from The Legend of Zelda series was in his shop.
- This marks the second reference to Link in the DK series after Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.
