Banana Medals are special items that you need to collect in Donkey Kong 64. They are

Animated babana medal in DK64

collected by getting 75 bananas of one color. If the player collects 15 banana medals and give them to Cranky Kong, he'll let you play Jetpack, the first game Rareware made. You need to play this game in order to get a Rareware Coin, which you need to get to the final level.
