Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
These items first appear in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They can be either used for paying the entry fee for Swanky's Bonus Bonanza, getting tips from Wrinkly Kong or Cranky Kong, and saving the game. They can also be used to get a rematch against a boss in the Game Boy Advance version.
Donkey Kong 64
These items reappear in Donkey Kong 64, Banana Coins are used to buy certain items and upgrades such as Guns, new moves and abilities, and musical instruments. In this game, each of the five playable Kongs collected a different color of coin: Donkey Kong collected the regular yellow coins, Diddy Kong collected red coins, Lanky Kong collected blue coins, Tiny Kong collected purple coins, and Chunky Kong collected green coins. In addition, special multicolored coins that gave five regular coins to each Kong could be found by using the shockwave attack obtained from the Banana Fairy Queen on special dirt patches with the DK logo on them.
Diddy Kong Pilot
Banana Coins were to appear in the cancelled game, Diddy Kong Pilot as a part of the mode, Cranky's Challenge. Six of them must be collected and Cranky must lose in the race for the player to win the track in this mode.
DK: Jungle Climber
In DK: Jungle Climber, Banana Coins are found in each stage and can be used to buy certain stages.
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Banana Coins are found in every stage in Donkey Kong Country Returns, in many ways. Some are hidden, some are gotten by defeating certain enemies and some are found by blowing on dandelions and other things that can be blown apart. They are very common, and there are several of them in each stage.
