Awks are blue flightless birds that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D.
Awks are some of the most basic enemies in both games and behave similar to Gnawties from Donkey Kong Country as all they do is walk back and forth. These birds are also known to be very peaceful, despite them being enemies. They usually are found in groups of three and they are common enemies in the levels of Jungle world.
In order for Donkey and Diddy Kong to defeat Awks, they can either do a simple bounce or roll into these foes. They are one of the few enemies in the game that can be defeated by Diddy's peanut popguns.
These foes also have a related enemy called Rawk. They are very similar, but Rawks are red and more aggressive.
Awk appears to be a bird with blue-green feathers with a couple of red feathers underneath. They also possess orange beaks themselves.
- Though not confirmed, it is possible that Awks have been controlled by the Tiki Tak Tribe to attack the Kongs.
